Timing equipment is more likely to be damaged in transit than in use. A molded carrying case with custom foam holds the console, sensors, emitters, printer, cables and adapters, and keeps them from moving against each other.
Displays and scoreboards want their own cases: metal reinforced corners and edges, metal hinges and locking latches, with high density foam inserts. That case doubles as a shipping case if a board ever has to go back for service.
Cable is worth managing properly. A cable bucket takes up to 660 feet of heavy track cable with both ends accessible, so it comes out without tangling; a reel handles Cat5 style cable up to 300 feet and takes several runs on one winder.
Store batteries charged, and store everything dry.
