Some releases of Windows 7, 8, and 10 have added security against viruses and prevent files from being created in the same folder as where the XLscore program resides. When the XLscore software is installed on your PC, the DAT files are created and are all empty. When the first class is created or the first driver entered or the first race saved, Windows may override saving the data in the existing files and creates a second set of files in a different location on the hard drive. This causes the DAT files in the same folder as the XLscore program to remain empty even though the XLscore software can access the classes, drivers, and race results. Whether this happens depends on what Windows OS is running on your PC.
