This question has many answers depending on where the data will be coming from AND where the printers will be located on the track.

Printers can be connected directly to the 2900 timer but the cabling and wireless will be at the start line in the elements. Best solution is to connect to the PC so all the additional cabling and wireless are protected.

Where on the track will the printers be located? Tower with PC? Print booth on return road?

The PC software is designed to communicate to a single COM port on the PC. To connect both to PC, they must both be wireless and placed at different locations using a 4520BU connected to the PC and a 4520B2 at each printer. The PC will setup a COM port to communicate to both printers. AC power to the 4520B2 and a serial cable between the 4520B2 and a printer. The current 6042S printers include the serial cable as did the previous 6038S printer model.

If you still want both printers hardwired to the PC, you will need to develop a splitter cable from the PC to each printer. Since this is RS232 serial data comm, the PC circuitry will probably have issue supplying enough signal to two printers and the 50 meter distance.

A printer can be connected vis USB to the PC. Depending on the age of the 2900 timer, there may be a serial printer port (blue) and a differential printer port (red). Either can connect a printer with the matching interface. Cable lengths to the serial printer is limited to 25 foot as a RS232 standard. The differential port on the 2900 timer can be extended to several thousand feet with the proper matching RS485/422 converter to RS232 (printer connection).
