Reaction Time and ET are separate timing events on the timer. ET does not start counting until the Reaction Time is complete, in this case a redlight.
The RT timing starts when the bottom yellow illuminates on the tree in that lane. The RT timing stops when the start beam is tripped. then the ET starts timing until the finish beam in that lane is tripped. Both lanes operate independently of each other and have no interaction during timing.
There is an option in the timer named ET+RT where timing is the same as described above but the reported ET is actually the ET plus the RT. For some race events, this is preferred as it simulates timing starting when the bottom yellow illuminates and ends when the finish beam is tripped.
