2700 XL Wireless
Timing System Features
XL Wireless Package

The 2700 Series XL Wireless Drag Timing System can be configured as a single lane or dual lane timing system without the long track cables. The 2700 Timer Console communicates through an industrial grade wireless link to the Drag Tree, Start Line Beams, and 60 foot Beams. A remote T-Link Wireless unit is located on the side of each lane at the Mid-Track and Finish locations. Speeds and Elapsed Times are communicated to the 2700 Timer Console via the same industrial grade Wireless Link network. With all the barriers to good wireless communications, the 2700 XL Wireless maintains 0.001 second accuracy.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    ... and the Answers
What do I get when I order a 2700 series XL Wireless system? The 2700 XL Wireless includes a Wireless Timer Console with integrated LED Display and 12-Button Keypad, the 110VAC Drag 'Christmas' Tree (12VDC or 230VAC tree optional), our latest T-Link Wireless and Tree Link Wireless technology, and our race proven Infrared technology Beam Emitters and Track Sensors.
What do I need to buy in addition to the 2700 XL Wireless? Only batteries for the start line and 60ft beam emitters. The IR Beam Emitters use four AA size or four C size batteries, alkaline or Ni-Cad.
Can I upgrade my 2600, 2650, 2800, or 2850 to the 2700 XL Wireless? All 2600 and 2650 XL Advanced models as well as 2800 and 2850 XL Professional models can be upgraded to the 2700 XL Wireless timing system. In general, your existing tree, start beams, 60FT and Finish beams can all be reused with an upgrade to the 2700 XL Wireless. Pricing varies based on what features already exist on the customer's current equipment and timing system. A great way to reinvest in your timing system and add more features.
What options can I add to the 2700 XL Wireless system? The XL Wireless allows 60 foot ET's, Mid-Track Speed & ET, and FInish Line Speed & ET and any combination of these. Upgrading and adding more features later is as easy as plugging in the new features. The Wireless Timing System automatically recognizes the changes to the system hardware.
What do I need to do to print timeslips? The 2700 XL Wireless includes the capability to print timeslips with custom 4-line headers. Timeslip Printers can be connected locally to the 2700 Timer Console in the tower or through a Wireless Link. Wireless Printers require no external power with all power supplied by the T-Link Wireless unit. Everyone who races could walk away with your name and phone number on their timeslip!
What staging options do I have with the 2700 system?? The 2700 XL Wireless system can connect to Single Beams at the start line for Staging or a selection of Dual and Tri beams. Combinations of Pre-stage & Stage or Stage and Guard or Pre-stage & Stage & Guard are fully compatible with the 2700.
Can the 2700 XL Wireless be used as a single lane timer for car performance tuning? The 2700 can operate as a single lane or dual lane timer. Both modes use the tree to start and measure RT. Switching between these mode is a simple software configuration change through the 2700 Timer Console's keypad.
What if my track length is not a standard length? The beauty of the Wireless Drag Timing System is the flexibility to place the Finish Beams anywhere on the track. Track length can be changed for each event and each track and the Speed Trap length is changed by a simple software configuration change through the 2700 Timer Console's keypad.

RaceAmerica Infrared Sensors overcome the problems with sun light and alignment common with many photocell or low tech infrared solutions. Other manufacturers use photocells which are very sensitive to sunlight and work poorly in bright sunlight. Other manufacturers also use more expensive laser powered beam emitters which generate a bright light to their low tech IR sensors. These seem to work if the sensors are shaded well from sunlight but often are internmittent when running a race event. While others purchase their sensors from outside sources, RaceAmerica's Infrared Sensors were designed by RaceAmerica back in 1991 and we have been perfecting them ever since. Our sensors are designed to operate from total darkness to the brightest sunlight accomplished through a coded digital signal.

The proven drag racing technology of RaceAmerica's Infrared Track Sensors and Beam Emitters provide line-of-sight detection of moving objects and the Infrared design is immune to radio interference and bright sunlight. The Track Sensors connect to the XL Advanced system using an RJ-11 connector for fast and easy setup. The Beam Emitters are powered by a choice of four AA-size batteries as well as 110VAC or 230VAC and provide detection of objects up to 50 feet away.
