RACEBOX
RT Practice System and Demo Tree
 |
| The RACEBOX RT Practice and Demo System is designed to connect to your existing RaceAmerica drag racing tree or it can be bundled with a RaceAmerica tree as a complete package. The RACEBOX is powered from the tree it is connected to and ships with a 12-button Control Keypad and two Lane Pushbuttons. The RACEBOX has a full featured set including a RT Practice System for one or two lanes, a Drag Race Demonstration Display Tree, a Manually Controlled Starting Tree, and a RT Competiton Game 'Best of 7'. The RACEBOX also has features for the more advanced drag racer like configurable Vehicle Rollout to closely simulate vehicle and track conditions. |
RACEBOX Modes of Operation
 |
RT Practice Mode
RT Practice Mode configures the RACEBOX for 1 or 2 lanes, duplicating standard NHRA/IHRA starting sequences and Reaction Time measurement. In this mode, the tree starting sequence, Pro or Full (Sportsman) can be selected using the keypad on the RACEBOX console. Dial-ins can also be entered to duplicate track conditions during Bracket racing. For the more advanced users, Vehicle Rollout can also be configured to add the delay normally experienced between the driver's reaction time and the vehicle physically moving forward. Once the RACEBOX is configured for the desired racing format, the pushbutton is pressed and held until the pre-stage lights illuminate simulating rolling into the pre-stage beam. As each lane releases the pushbutton (simulating rolling into the stage beam), the stage light illuminates for their lane. When both lanes are staged, the tree starts using the previously configured settings for tree type, dial-ins, and vehicle rollout. The best RT is determined considering any redlights, and the winning lane green light illuminates. Redlights are indicated by the tree freezing during the starting sequence and the red light illuminated. The Digital Display on the console displays the reaction times for 1 or 2 lanes until a pushbutton is pressed to clear the tree, ready for the next practice session. |
'Best of 7' Game Mode
Best of 7 Game Mode is similar to RT Practice Mode with both lanes active with the addition of keeping score of the wins until one lane wins four races. As in RT Practice Mode, the tree starting sequence, Pro or Full (Sportsman) can be selected using the keypad on the RACEBOX console. Dial-ins can also be entered to duplicate track conditions during Bracket racing. For the more advanced users, Vehicle Rollout can also be configured to add the delay normally experienced between the driver's reaction time and the vehicle physically moving forward. Once the RACEBOX is configured for the desired racing format, each lane presses and holds their pushbutton until the pre-stage light illuminates in their lane. Once both lanes have pre-staged, each lane releases their pushbutton and their stage light illuminates. When both lanes are staged, the tree starts using the previously configured settings for tree type, dial-ins, and vehicle rollout. The best RT is determined considering any redlights, and the the winner is indicated by flashing the top yellow light in the winning lane. As the number of wins increases, the three yellow and the green light are used in each lane to indicate the total number of wins by lane. The winner after each race is indicated by flashing of the total number of win lights in the winner's lane. Actual RT is displayed in the LED DIsplay on the console for both the left and right lanes. Competition continues until one lane has reached four wins. |
Demo Mode
Demo Mode continuously simulates the start of the racing action completely unattended. Demo Mode pre-stages each lane, then stages both lanes, then demo mode selects a starting light sequence and dial-in for each lane before starting the tree. Redlights occur on some starts and green lights are illuminated for the winning lane. After displaying the race results on the tree, the tree clears and after a short pause, a new race start begins. |
Manual Mode
Manual Mode enables the tree to be used as a starting tree for special events controlled manually by an operator. The starting light sequence is selected using the keypad. Dial-ins can also be configured to stagger each lane's side of the tree. Press and hold the right push button until the pre-stage lights illuminate. Release the push button to stage both lanes and the tree starts. After the green lights are illuminated for a few seconds, the tree blanks ready for the next manual start. |
