I am familiar with the features of the 2710 XL Wireless drag racing timing system. I heard the 2700 XL Wireless system has more features than the 2710. I am guessing the iPad can be used with the 2700 and not the 2710. Is there any other difference between the two models?

The 2700 XL Wireless system features include a choice of Prestage/Stage/Guard beams at the start line or Prestage/Stage beams or just Stage beams. On a 1/4 mile track (402 meter) for example, ET can be measured at 60FT, 330FT/101MTR, 660FT/201MTR, 1000FT/305MTR, and end of track 1/4 mile (402 meter). Speed can be measured at 660FT/201MTR, 1000FT/305MTR, and end of track 1/4 mile (402 meter).

The 2710 XL Wireless was designed for the smaller race venue not needing all the ET and Speed data of a larger system at a lower entry price. This system includes the same choice of start beams as the 2700 system. Using the same 1/4 mile (402 meter) example, the 2710 offers ET measurements at 60FT and end of track 1/4 mile (402 meter) and Speed measurement at end of track 1/4 mile (402 meter).

Another difference is the software. The 2710 was designed to use the XLScore II software matching the ET/Speed capabilities and smaller race venue. The 2700 was designed to use either the XLscore II or XLscore PRO PC race management software, The iPad remote staging and driver registration features work in conjunction with the XLscore PRO PC software and therefore the iPad can be used with the 2700 system. Since the 2710 is compatible with the XLscore II PC race management software, the iPad is not a featured offered on the 2710 system.

At any time, a 2710 system can be upgraded to a 2700 system as the race program grows and add the additional ET/Speed measurements and iPad remote staging and driver registration functionality.
