FTDI driver installation instructions for 4520U/4620U/45232/45422:

1) Open the FTDI_setup.zip file and drag the CDM21218_Setup.exe file to the desktop.

2) Double click the CDM21218_Setup.exe file to automatically install all drivers required for the USB device.

3) After a few minutes step 2 completes.  Plug in the USB device into any available USB port.  

Windows will perform two installs, first to install the USB device as a USB Serial Port and a second install to create the COM port to communicate with the USB device.  Be patient, this process may take up to five minutes to complete.  When each install completes, a message will appear at the bottom of your screen to confirm successful install.  The second install will display a message containing the COM port number for the device.  Note this COM port number for use with RaceAmerica PC software programs.

To monitor install progress, open the Device Manager and expand OTHER DEVICES.  When the first instll completes, a new device, (i.e. USB Serial Port) will appear.  After a few more minutes, LPT AND COM will appear and list a new COM port for the USb Serial Device.
